Disclosure of standards for formaldehyde content limits

The Ministry of Industry and Trade has issued Circular No. 21/2017 / TT-BCT on national technical standards on levels of formaldehyde and aromatic amino acids metabolized from azo dyes in textile products.

Accordingly, this Circular stipulates the limit of formaldehyde and aromatic amino acid content of azo dyes in textile products prior to market in Vietnam.
Products: luggage of people on entry or moving assets of organizations and individuals within the duty-free quota; Sample goods for advertisement have no value for scientific research or production; Imported goods for display, introduction at the fair ... not subject to the management of this circular.
The Circular stipulates that limits on formaldehyde content in textile products should not exceed 30 mg / kg for textiles and garments for children under 36 months of age, 75 mg / kg for textiles and clothing. directly to skin and 300 mg / kg for non-skin contact.
For the aromatic amino acid content of azo dyestuffs not exceeding 30 mg / kg.
Apart from regulations on the content of formaldehyde and aromatic amines, Circular 21 also stipulates that products and goods before being sold on the Vietnamese market must be announced according to regulations in this standard; Inserting conformity marks (CR) under the provisions of Circular 28/2012 / TT-BKHCN and Circular 02/2017 / TT-BKHCN.
The circular takes effect from 1/5/2018.
